Old Royersford Hardware Building To Be Redeveloped, Brewpub Next?

The old McKissic's Hardware building will be redeveloped into a restaurant, offices, and gallery, while a brewpub is considered downtown.

ROYERSFORD, PA — While neighboring Phoenixville's revitalization has been the talk of the region, Royersford own development boom is well underway.

The borough has approved redevelopment at the site of McKissic's Hardware building, which has been vacant for 15 years, officials said.

Officials determined on Thursday evening to grant approval to a project which would bring three as of yet unnamed commercial storefronts to the property. The development will include a restaurant, a gallery, and a medical or professional office.

The redevelopment is being spearheaded by the firm Luludoli.

In addition, the borough announced that a new 17-19 space parking lot would be constructed in 2018 between the police station and old fire station.

And more projects are on the way: a zoning hearing will be held on Nov. 21, at 7 p.m., for a brewpub at the site of the old fire station on 3rd and Walnut.

This comes in the wake of a June announcement that a large riverfront property had been purchased by Lewis Group. The project was described as a "game-changer" for the borough at the time, and organizers said that they plan to develop significant residential and commercial properties there.
