Online Threat Made to Upper Perkiomen Middle School

One person is in custody after an online threat toward Upper Perkiomen Middle School prompted an investigation.

Authorities are investigating a threat made online against Upper Perkiomen Middle School, the school district said over the weekend. One person has been arrested.

The school said they discovered the threat early Sunday morning.

Police investigated the threat throughout the day and a suspect was in custody on Sunday afternoon. His name has not yet been released.

The district did not comment on the precise nature of the threat.

School Superintendent Alexis McGloin said that they had taken steps to ensure the safety of the students, and that officers will be at the middle school Monday to help "students and staff feel secure."
