Opening Date Nears For New Sheetz In Limerick

LIMERICK, PA — As anyone passing by Ridge Pike in Limerick can see, the first Sheetz in the Philly region encroaching on Wawa's territory is almost ready for its grand opening.

The new store at the intersection of Swamp Pike will open Feb. 12.

Fences are coming down and the store and attached gas station have continued to take shape in recent weeks, with final touches arriving in the coming week.

To really bring the Wawa rivalry to a head, the store is located just down the street from an existing super Wawa. It's also near the Limerick Diner.

It's not the only Sheetz incursion into Wawa territory, as a location has also been approved for Downingtown. But that store won't be open until September, according to Sheetz.

The new location in Limerick is currently hiring.

Sheetz stretches as far east as the Outer Banks, but until now, they haven't gotten closer to the Philly area than Reading in Berks County and Easton in Northampton County.
