Here we are, ready for another baseball season in Philly. We'll get to see just how far along on the "rebuilding" path they've come...
They certainly didn't come out of the gates on fire, but at least they've shown some life in every game. The starting pitching has looked pretty good so far and they may have found a closer now, something the first four games proved they needed.
With Ryan Howard and Carlos Ruiz the only remaining players from the 2008 World Series Championship team; there are a lot of new faces this year. Howard looks healthy and should provide 100+ RBI's again this year. Ruiz should still get a good bit of time behind the plate, but there should be plenty of playing time for a lot of younger guys this year too. The homegrown talent of Freddie Galvis, Cesar Hernandez, Darin Ruf, Maikel Franco and Aaron Nola has been supported by bringing in a few guy with the potential to make a difference.

And about the closer situation... just because he's blown three quarters of his save opportunities prior to this year, he might do okay; he's pitched 60+ innings each of the last three seasons with a three point something ERA, not too bad.
While they certainly are not on many lists to make the post-season, I won't be surprised if they do! Play ball!
