Patient Thank You Letter For Our Denture Instructional Video

One of our patients saw our newest video: Dentures & Adhesive A Step By Step Guide (you can watch it here). They sent us this email to thank us for the tips and they actually used them!

“Hello Dr. Funk,

I would like to thank you for the video you posted on how to make dentures “stay in”

I went to a local “chain” that supposedly specializes in dentures etc.  This was about 1 1/2 yrs. ago.

They never told me how to put and keep the dentures in my mouth.  I have been having trouble with that ever since.  I have returned numerous times.  They told me to scrape the glue off the roof of my mouth when I took them out. Needless to say, that hurts! They never suggested what you did in the video.  I tried it and it really works so thank you very much for the information. Doing as you suggested also negates the need to “scrape” the roof of my mouth when I remove them.

My dentures are ill fitting and very uncomfortable.  I thought by now I would get used to them.

I wouldn’t hesitate to come to you to get a proper fitting as I am impressed with your postings. 

However, the reason I needed dentures in the first place was because I have cancer and the medication (cyclosporine) that I was taking made my gums grow down over my teeth to the point that my teeth could not even be seen!  What a nightmare!

I had to have 31 perfectly fine teeth surgically removed and needed 2 liters of blood afterwards.

My insurance would not pay for it.  My Oncologist even wrote a letter explaining the removal was because of my cancer.  The insurance company still denied it.

So, with the cancer and the bills for false teeth and oral surgery I will be in debt for….well forever, I guess.

I just wanted to give you some background as to why I needed the false teeth.

 I found your link on the “Pottstown Patch”  I put you in  my “favorite places” so I will be checking back often to view your videos. Even though I have never been to your office, I will certainly recommend you if the opportunity comes along.
