Faculty members served customers in an event to benefit special education programs.

With Spring-Ford , private fundraisers have taken on increased importance in the struggle to ensure that students' needs are met, particularly in special education programs that traditionally rely on a large influx of state funds.

Rita's Water Ice at Limerick Square donated 20 percent of its Wednesday evening sales to the Spring-Ford Educational Foundation, where the funds will benefit students in the Special Needs and Autistic Support programs.

Special Education teacher Dan Currie, 5th-8th grade language pathologist Joan Staples, and Limerick Elementary 1st Grade teacher Sean Riordan were all on hand to help dole out ices to an ample crowd of waiting customers on a muggy spring evening.
