Reports Of Shots Fired In Royersford Are Due To New Gun Range, Police Say
Numerous residents reported hearing shots fired Thursday in Royersford. There is no cause for concern, police said.

ROYERSFORD, PA -- Numerous residents reported hearing shots fired Thursday in Royersford. But there is no cause for concern, police said.
The shots are coming from a new gun range opened in the area by East Vincent Township, Limerick police said.
The range is for law enforcement only and is located near the East Vincent sewer plant on Dairy Road.

The range is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Limerick police said that they had met with East Vincent police and were discussing ways to mitigate the noise.
"They are cooperating and agreeable to working on implementing additional sound reduction measures," Limerick police said. "They will also attempt to limit the early morning and the early evening schedule. There will be various dates and times when the range will not be in use and as the winter months approach the use of the range may be reduced."

According to Limerick police, the range is currently hosting law enforcement personnel completing mandatory training qualifications.
