Royersford ATA Martial Arts Board Break-a-thon Benefits Julia's Grace Foundation

Royersford ATA Martial Arts, located at 33 West Ridge Pike, Suite 663, Royersford, PA held their annual Board Break-a-thon September 25-30 to benefit Julia’s Grace Foundation®. Students were invited to break as many boards as they could in one minute. The record holder for the event is Evan Riodan. Evan broke 94 boards in just one minute (video of the amazing break is on Royersford ATA Martial Arts Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/ATARoyersford ). Students, parents, and the general public were also invited to break wooden boards for a donation. Royersford ATA owners, Scott & Rebecca Magdycz set the goal of $3,500 for this year's fundraiser, however, their students went above and beyond, raising $4,231 for the Julia's Grace Foundation®.

Julia’s Grace Foundation® was created to honor the dreams and wishes of cancer patient Julia Grace Eveland, (2004-2013) from Royersford, PA. Julia’s mother, Janet Miller-Eveland reveals, “Right before Julia left us, she shared a list of ten things with us to “make us happy” for when we needed it.” This list (available on the Foundation’s website, https://www.juliasgracefoundation.org/howwehelp ) provides the heart of the Foundation’s “HUGS”.

Julia’s Grace Foundation® is a registered 501(c)(3) charity, founded to continue Julia's work of bringing happiness to children with cancer and their families. The Foundation helps children with cancer and their families by providing support to make days “normal”. Remembering that kids need to be kids and everyone needs a “hug,” the Julia’s Grace Foundation® offers opportunities for special family moments, whether at home, in the hospital or at public events and venues. The Foundation also grants assistance or “graces” to families experiencing financial hardship due to the direct result of a child’s cancer treatment and care, raises money to be used to fund childhood cancer research projects, and works to increase public awareness of childhood cancer.
