Royersford Gets $121K For New Crosswalk

Royersford has received a significant grant to improve the walkability and safety of the downtown area.

ROYERSFORD, PA -- Royersford borough has received a significant grant from the state to help install a new crosswalk downtown.

The grant, worth $121,529, comes from Pennsylvania's multimodal transportation fund.

The borough said that the money will be used to put in a new crosswalk over Main Street at 3rd Avenue. The crosswalk will lead to the public parking lot, the borough said.

Royersford also announced Tuesday that they received approval for a Community Development Block Grant worth $148,000 which would help improve Church Street near 5th Avenue. The project includes repairs, milling, overlay, and stormwater improvements. It's expected to begin in 2017.
