Royersford HS Graduate, Lifelong Resident, Dies at 92

Royersford's Dorie Hunter worked as a packer for Diamond Glass Corporation for over 40 years.

ROYERSFORD, PA -- Doris G. "Dorie" (Quay) Hunter, 92, widow of the late Clarence Swartley and the late Clifford Hunter, formerly of Royersford, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 in Manatawny Manor. Born on June 17, 1924 in Spring City, she was a daughter of the late Ethel P. (Bennett) and H. Charles Quay.

Dorie was a 1943 graduate of Royersford High School. She had been employed as a packer for Diamond Glass Corporation for over 40 years. She was a founding member of Freedom Lutheran Church in Royersford and a member of the Woman's Club of Royersford.

Mrs. Hunter is survived by a nephew: William J. Owens, Jr. and his wife Frances, of Pottstown; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by seven brothers, six sisters and a nephew: Dennis J. Owens.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 10:00 am. Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. Susan Kay Folks. Interment will follow in the Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Friends will be received from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Dorie's name to the Manatawny Manor Benevolent Fund, 30 Old Schuylkill Road, Pottstown, PA 19465. Arrangements are being handled by the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home.
