Royersford Puppy of the Week: The Fund Raising, Cancer Fighting Wonder Dog Sheamus

This week's puppy of the week is Sheamus, who has helped his family heal from loss multiple times.

ROYERSFORD, PA -- Lots of pet parents emailed to tell us what made their puppy the ultimate Good Boy or Girl. Although every dog is a good boy or girl, here is this week's pup of the week: Sheamus.

Here's what Sheamus' family has to say about him:

My pup Sheamus is special because it's the second time he's helped a family get through the loss of a dear pet. The first family had a Collie named Laddie, he was 6 years old and the father of our first dog Lucky. After Laddie passed away from Lymphoma, they got Sheamus, a Collie/German Shepherd mix. He wasn't the same as the other dog, but definitely helped mend their hearts. Less than a year later we found out our Lucky had Lymphoma as well. Before that he had been raising funds for cancer research through Bark for Life. He got to participate in a cancer research program too for his treatment but within two months he was gone. At 6 1/2 and we had to say goodbye to our boy. I know everything happens for a reason because Sheamus's family had to find for a new home for him and after meeting Sheamus we knew it was right. He's definitely helped patch the hole in our hearts too. He's almost 1 1/2 years old and is very playful and sweet with his big hugs. Sheamus is going to continue Lucky's fight against cancer and keep his fundraising efforts going through the Bark for Life of Pottstown. Over the years Lucky, my husband (Ryan), me, and now Sheamus have raised close to $5,000 and we don't plan on stopping anytime soon!
