School District Issues Statement in Student's Slaying

Julianne Siller was set to graduate from Spring-Ford Area High School in three weeks. She was killed Saturday night, allegedly by her boyfriend, Tristan Stahley.

The Spring-Ford Area School District issued the following statement Sunday regarding the death of Julianne Siller:

Dear Spring-Ford Area School District Families,

It is with great sadness that we have learned and wanted to inform you that one of our Spring-Ford Area High School students passed away tragically late Saturday night.

Because the reactions to the death of a student, peer, or friend can vary, plans are currently being made to address the grieving process for our staff and students. It is important to know that the grieving process is normal and can range from withdrawal, crying, and anger. For that reason, the High School administration and staff are working with several counseling services to ensure we are fully prepared for all situations. Supports for students and faculty will be available on Tuesday May 28th and will remain in place as needed.

We will try to maintain as normal a routine as the situation and people allow, and we encourage you to do the same. Please feel free to talk with your children about this situation and if you feel that your child or family needs some assistance, please contact your House Office or Principal. We will do everything we can to help you.
We know you share in our concern and sympathy for the family.

Sincerely,

Dr. David R. Goodin
