SEPTA Route 139 To See Changes Due to Bridge Closure

PennDOT and SEPTA has released a statement regarding Route 139 and the bridge closure coming on July 18.

SEPTA released a statement regarding changes to be made to the Route 139 public transportation in anticipation of the bridge closure in Royersford-Spring City coming on July 18. See the statement below:

be detoured between downtown Spring City and Limerick
Square Shopping Center. During this time, Special shuttle buses
will operate between downtown Royersford and Limerick Square.

Customers should plan additional travel time due to the bridge work detour

The bridge will be closed for approximately eight weeks according to officials, who held a public meeting on Monday to the closure.

Ryan Jeroski, Project Manager, added this statement on Wednesday to clear up any uncertainty:

Commuters wanting to take SEPTA from Spring City to Royersford, or vice versa, will have to transfer at the Limerick Square Shopping Center. The current SEPTA Route 139, leaving from King of Prussia Mall, will travel through Spring City on its existing route, and then go further up Schuylkill Road (Route 724) and cross the Schuylkill River at the Linfield Bridge. Once across the river, the bus will continue on Linfield-Trappe Road until turning onto Lewis Road and stopping at the Limerick Square Shopping Center before getting on US 422 to complete its route at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets. SEPTA plans to run a shuttle bus from the Limerick Square Shopping Center to downtown Royersford, so Limerick Square is the designated transfer point between the shuttle service and the detoured Route 139.
