“At no time, whatsoever, was there a back door deal made with GSK that the board waited on handling,” said Ciresi. “Not this board. Not that I’m aware of.”
Ciresi assured the public that all dealings with GSK were above board.
“Everything was done on the up-and-up,” he said.
Spring-Ford settled with GlaxoSmithKline on reassessment of property in the district after an appeal. After the district chose to fight the reassessments, they settled on paying $6.5 million to the pharmaceutical company.
The negotiation period for the settlement also spanned the presidency of board member Donna Williams.
