SF Booster Club Looking for Volunteers

The Spring-Ford Booster Club needs help supporting the area's athletics teams.

The Spring-Ford Booster Club is looking for members and volunteers to help out area children afford to play the sports they love.

President Jim Sellman said the club is looking to get more volunteers and more members. The club supports over 30 teams and more than 1,000 kids.

Proceeds made by fundraising and membership allow student-athletes to get championship plaques and banners and participate in the annual senior banquet for all athletes.

Sellman said the club is looking for the community to help do anything and everything, including: 50/50 at football games (six people, all home games), two to three people to work the snack shed at every home game, pepole interested in being a fundraising coordinator or other leadership role, a scholastics coordinator to assist in raising funds for and handing out no more than five $500 scholarships to seniors annually, as well as corporate donors.

"We're looking for anyone who wants to step up to help out," Sellman said. "The more we can get, the more we can try to do."

Corporate sponsors are encouraged to contact the club, as the donations would be made to a 501-C organization. People interested in becoming members can sign up for $20.

What is the Booster Club?

The Spring-Ford Booster Club is an organization of parents and community members dedicated to encouraging and supporting the Spring-Ford Area School District's athletic programs and the over 1000 students that participate in them.

What does the Booster Club do?

  • The Booster Club raises money to support over 1000 athletes participating in over 30 different sports. 
  • Provides banquets, individual plaques and championship banners that are displayed in the gymnasium.
  • Provide support for end of the year Senior Athletes Award Banquet.
  • Awards scholarships to senior athletes.  Five Scholarships were awarded in 2011.

How does the Booster Club raise funds?

  • Membership Dues - minimum donation of $20/family
  • Football program advertisements and sales
  • 50/50 at various athletic events
  • Spirit wear and other items
  • Air Band Contest
  • Donations of community members and alumni
  • Various other fundraising events

  • Become a member today!!!
  • Participate in fundraisers.
  • Attend monthly meetings and provide new insight and ideas
  • Become a committee chairperson or member
  • Or just simply become a member and be your child's biggest fan and supporter at his or her athletic event!
