SF's Post Prom Program at Full Speed Now

The Spring-Ford SNAP program has a full list of events, recaps and reminders for the community!

The following was sent in by SNAP, Spring-Ford's Post-Prom Program

Spring-Ford’s SNAP Committee is in full swing as it gears up for New York, New York: A Night in the Big Apple, which is Spring-Ford’s Seventh Annual Post Prom Party on April 21.

SNAP leaders, hundreds of volunteers and local businesses, Spring-Ford Area School District, and our extended community, make this event possible in order to promote the health and safety of juniors and seniors, as well as the community overall. Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to sign up for the Post Prom Party, to attend a free, fun filled night of action, shows, food, games, and so much more.

SNAP’s goal has always been to make the night the best it can be, so it is the place to be. Prom night is statistically the most dangerous night of the year for high school students. By building a huge party in a safe environment, SNAP aims to draw kids away from destructive decisions, and into a great late night with their friends.

After a tremendous effort and turnout for a very successful Dancing with the Stars in January, SNAP is sponsoring a Family Magicomedy Show starring The Gustafsons, at the Ninth Grade Center at 7:00 p.m. on Feb. 24. For tickets and all SNAP information, visit www.sfsnap.org.

Prom Dress Boutique

SNAP’s Prom Dress Boutique features an amazing selection of gowns in beautiful condition. Check the website for boutique dates and times. High School students can come and purchase a dress.

Preparations for the Big Night

Transforming the High School into New York City is a tall order, and many members of the community work to make it happen. SNAP has five scheduled work nights at Upper Providence Elementary. Interested community members are encouraged to come and be put to work on a number of prepped projects, or work on projects they have already been planning.

The decorating committee needs to transform Spring-Ford High School into New York City overnight, and welcomes all help!

Did Someone Say Dodgeball?

The dodgeball tournament is always a big hit. High School student teams of eight sign up to be given a spot in the brackets. The audience always has a ball! Come to the high school gym on March 23.

Sneak Peak

Also, don’t miss SNAP’s Community Walk-Thru from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. on April 21. Come see what the efforts and generosity of Spring-Ford’s community can do! Travel through the same areas the students will enjoy later that night - fun for all ages! SNAP encourages all community members to check out www.sfsnap.org for more information, and to consider joining the team to help out any time during the year, including the option of before, during, and after the event.
