SFASD Making Preparations for Homecoming
A list of events has been released for this year's Homecoming at Spring-Ford.

The following is a release sent in by Jess Lester, representing the Spring-Ford Area School District:
ROYERSFORD - A festive weekend is in store for students, families and alumni who attend this year's Homecoming celebration, which begins for the public on Oct. 21 and continues into Oct. 22.
Festivities will kick off with the annual Powder Puff football game, in which junior and senior girls compete on the playing field, with junior and senior boys serving as cheerleaders. The game will begin at 5 p.m. in Coach McNelly stadium, which is located behind the , 400 S. Lewis Rd. in Royersford. Tickets are $5 per person and will be available at the gate. All proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. After the game, a bonfire will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. behind the 9th Grade Center.
On Oct. 22, the fun begins at noon with a parade in Royersford. The parade will begin at 7th Avenue and Washington Street, where the procession will march down 7th Avenue to Main Street. The parade will turn left on Main and continue to 5th Avenue and then turn left onto Green Street. From Green Street, the parade will end behind Coach McNelly Stadium.
The parade will feature the talents of Spring-Ford High School's championship Golden Ram Marching Band, the chorus and the Spring-Ford Middle School Band, and will include floats by various high school clubs. Athletic team members, School Board members, local dignitaries, local fire companies and the Rowdy Ram will all make appearances.
The football game versus Owen J. Roberts will begin around 2 p.m., but gates will open at 12:30 p.m. for pre-game festivities which will include musical performances, as well as the introduction of the Homecoming Court. At half-time, Spring-Ford's Homecoming Queen will be announced.
