An official release was sent out on Friday.

An official release was sent out by Jessica Lester on Friday concerning the assistant superintendent vacancy.
ROYERSFORD - The Spring-Ford Area School Board will be voting to hire Allyn Roche as the school district's new assistant superintendent at the Aug. 22nd meeting.
Mr. Roche, of Quakertown, will be coming to Spring-Ford from the North Penn School District, where he has served as Director of Secondary Education and Professional Development since November 2008. In this position, he was responsible for the oversight and leadership of the academic program at five secondary school buildings, leading professional development for over 1,000 faculty members and was an active member of the Superintendent's Cabinet.
His career at North Penn extends back to 2001, when he was hired as a science teacher. From there, he became an assistant principal and principal at Pennbrook Middle School, before moving onto his central office position. He has a bachelor?s degree from Temple University and a teaching certification from Villanova University, where he also obtained his master's in educational leadership. He is currently studying for his doctoral degree at Lehigh University.
Mr. Roche has had experience in many different areas of school district management, from technology and special education to supporting building principals and working with members of the community on district-wide committees. He said he has always respected Spring-Ford as a district, and looks forward to upholding its reputation for excellence.
"Spring-Ford has always been in the upper echelon of Montgomery County school districts, and I have always been impressed from afar in everything that they do," he said.
Mr. Roche said his experience as a teacher, principal and central office administrator gives him a broad perspective on the issues affecting students, parents and staff members, all of which will help as he transitions to his new position.
"My goals are to support the superintendent in carrying out his goals and to help carry out the tradition of excellence in the school district by supporting principals, teachers, students and families," he said.
Spring-Ford Superintendent Dr. David Goodin, who was involved in the interview process that included 12 candidates, said he believes that Mr. Roche will bring a great deal of experience with him to the position.
"I really appreciated his emphasis on secondary education," said Dr. Goodin. "In addition, he is coming to us from a district that is comparable in terms of size and student population."
If approved by the School Board, Mr. Roche is set to begin his contract with the district on Oct. 24, 2011.
