Spring City Man Receives French Legion Of Honor For World War II Valor
The former U.S. Army veteran received the French Legion of Honor, France's highest award for valor.

SPRING CITY, PA — A former U.S. Army veteran received the French Legion of Honor, France's highest award for valor, during a special ceremony in Philadelphia last week.
Frank Horvath, 95, was honored during a special ceremony at the French Consulate in Center City, 6ABC reports.
Horvath was reportedly among the troops who landed on Omaha Beach in Normandy on D-Day as the Allied forces freed France from Nazi Germany.

American veterans who fought in one of the key battles that led to the liberation of France - Normandy, Provence, Ardennes, or Northern France - are eligible to be considered for the Legion of Honor.
The color guard for the ceremony was provided by Norristown Area High School's JROTC.
