Spring City's Forever Home Rescue Wins Holiday Donation From Petco Foundation

SPRING CITY, PA -- A heartwarming story of the power of a cats to change lives won Spring City's Forever Home Rescue a $5,000 donation. from the Petco Foundation.

Forever Home Rescue was chosen as one of 54 finalists in the Petco Foundation's Holiday Wishes campaign. The story of Pete the cat and how he helped the family dog overcome separation anxiety brought the nonprofit into the final round.

"Pete has only been with us for a few months, but he has already made a tremendous impact on our lives," said Lindsey Getz. "We were so grateful for the shelter's work that my six-year-old wanted to give something back to them. So, she baked and sold dog biscuits and raised over $200 for the small organization who’s doing big things for animals."

All 54 finalists will receive donations of between $5,000 and $100,000, Petco said.
