Spring-Ford 7, Central Dauphin 5

The Spring-Ford Rams ice hockey team is off to an auspicious start in its first ever Flyers Cup.

On Wednesday night, the 11th seeded Rams made their long drive to the Twin Ponds rink near Harrisburg pay off, upsetting sixth-seeded Central Dauphin (15-3-0) by a final score of 7-5 to advance to the Flyers cup quarterfinals.  Central Dauphin is one of the “original eight” teams in the Central Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League.

The Rams will travel to the Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ on Tuesday, March 15 to take on the winner of the game between #3 Washington Township and #19 William Tennant.  William Tennant upset Avon Grove in the opening round.
