ROYERSFORD - Science teacher Ryan Rendick was the winner of the 's annual Turkiest Teacher contest, which is a fundraiser for Project Outreach that this year brought in over $1,000.
To participate in the Turkiest Teacher contest, students donated spare change during lunch periods held Nov. 10 through 17, placing their donation into the bucket of the teacher they most wanted to see wear the famous turkey hat for an entire day. Student government officers raised awareness for the event by making videos, posters and PowerPoint presentations to encourage donations.
At the end of the week, Mr. Rendick was selected to wear the new colorful gobbler hat, created by Family and Consumer Science teacher Cheryl Viscardi. Student government officers presented a $1,065.39 check to Project Outreach representative Media Maron on Nov. 18. The money will be used to help families who may be in need this holiday season.
Spring-Ford's 7th Grade Center is located at 833 S. Lewis Road in Royersford.
