Spring-Ford Walk-a-Thon Raises $13,000

The Eighth Grade Center at Spring-Ford had a very successful Walk-a-Thon last week.

Student Government Coordinator at the Spring-Ford Eighth Grade Center Jeff Mast reported 420 students attended the May 25 Walk-a-Thon, benefitting suicide awareness and breast cancer research (Susan B. Komen for the Cure). The students raised a grand total of $13,000 for the two causes.

Susan Barnett of CBS Philly even stopped by to say hello and cover the event.

"The student government came up with the idea, but other groups – Builder’s Club, Nova Teens, National Honor Society - helped as well," Mast said. "Administrators, teachers, and custodians were instrumental in the walk’s success. It was a total team effort."
