As many of you recall, we held a similar meeting in February 2011. During that meeting, PennDOT and JD Eckman discussed their planned repairs to the bridge. However, since that meeting preliminary repair work has discovered that the deck of the bridge was in far worse shape than anticipated. As a result, PennDOT has had to change their planned rehabilitation of the bridge. It is now necessary to shut down and detour the bridge for a period of approximately eight weeks, beginning in mid-July, in order to accommodate the additional repairs to the deck of the bridge.
PennDOT representatives will be presenting their new plan for completion of this project, providing a timeline for the repairs, and answering any questions/concerns from stakeholders in the Spring-Ford area.
