The Goddard School of Royersford Reaches Keystone Star 3

of Royersford has achieved a high-quality mark in providing early childhood education, reaching the STAR 3 level in Pennsylvania’s early education quality rating system, Keystone STARS.

This center is a participant in United Way’s Success By 6 program which focuses on nurturing the early development of both the cognitive and social skills in children from birth to age five.  Success By 6 provides STAR 2 centers with individual development plans in order to help them improve their overall quality and achieve the next level, STAR 3, in the Keystone STARS rating system.

Since its inception in 2006, United Way’s Success By 6 program has nearly doubled the number of high-quality childcare centers in the southeastern Pennsylvania region to 85 centers, serving 7,000 children annually.  Success By 6 also focuses on providing training for teachers, ensuring that they are engaging children in effective ways; educating parents on their crucial role in supporting and nurturing their child’s learning experience; and shaping the social and emotional development of each child to identify where additional support is required.

“We know that education starts at birth and exists on a continuum from cradle to career, but those first five years are the most critical,” said Jill Michal, president and CEO of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. “Giving our children a solid foundation is one of the most important investments we can make. We’re so proud of the efforts of the Goddard School and the quality of early childhood education they’re providing to Royersford.”
