This Week in Rams Sports

Here are the five top matchups to look for this week in sports

Rams teams continue their quest to personal season goals. Football jumped out to a 2-1 start after picking up a win against Pope John Paul II on Friday. The soccer teams have certainly seen their struggles so far, but the young teams are finding an identity as they move forward. The golf teams will see some big action this week, while tennis and volleyball are coming into their own. Cross Country has a big tri-match and field hockey only has two losses so far.

Here are your top five matchups to look for this week in Rams sports:

1. Boys Golf @ Methacton (Tuesday, 3:oo p.m.) - Methacton won in the finals last year and the boys just missed it. They'll look to overthrow the champions on Tuesday.

2. Cross Country in Tri-Match @ Methacton/Pope John Paul II (Wednesday, 4:00 p.m.) - Methacton is a solid squad, according to head coach Brian Sullivan. Sullivan comes in this year in his first year as Spring-Ford's head coach. He comes from over 20 years at Pius and coached at Pope John Paul II last year.

3. Boys Golf vs. Boyertown (Thursday, 3:00 p.m.) - Head coach Jeff Mast told us in the beginning of the season that Boyertown could be a perennial powerhouse this year. They'll try to add another tough win in the latter part of the week in this one.

4. Girls Golf vs. Radnor (Thursday, 3:30 p.m.) - In the four-plus year history of this team, the girls have never beat Radnor. Their goal was to pick up a victory over them this year. It's the girls' last chance at fulfilling that goal with one matchup already down (lost 177-200 earlier this year).

5. Football @ Upper Perkiomen (Friday, 7:00 p.m.) - The boys are 2-1 with victories over Pope John Paul II and West Chester East. Their only loss comes to Daniel Boone. The Upper Perkiomen game should be a momentum-setter if they can pull off the victory.
