October is approaching and fall sports teams are finding their individual identities. Football has an uphill battle despite its 4-1 record, with every game mattering more and more each week. Field Hockey has had a strong start through September. Boys soccer is progressively picking up more and more victories. Golf is approaching individual tournaments, while volleyball is showing some flashes of dominance as the season progresses. Here are the top five things to look for in sports this week.
1. Golf @ PAC 10 Individual Tournament (Tuesday, 8:00 a.m.) - Both golf teams will send their best in to the individual PAC 10 tournament.
2. Girls Tennis @ Methacton (Tuesday, 3:30 p.m.) - The girls are still looking for revenge against Methacton from the 2010-2011 season, as they were part of the reason the girls didn't make the post season.
3. Boys Soccer @ Upper Darby (Thursday, 3:45 p.m.) - Upper Darby is a non-league team that could pose problems for the Rams.
4. Cross Country @ Paul Short Invitational (Friday, 3:00 p.m.) - Cross Country heads to the Paul Short Invitational to show off some of its best runners.
5. Football vs. Pottsgrove (Fri, 7:00 p.m.) - Football is 4-1, but needs this victory to continue toward its goals of districts and a PAC 10 championship.
