This Week in Rams Sports
A look at the top five matchups in Spring-Ford High School varsity sports.

Tuesday marks the first day of the last full month of school for students. Coupled with that comes a grinding schedule for the athletes, who will look to propel their teams into postseason glory.
Boys tennis participates in the PAC-10 Doubles Tournament this week, while softball continues to try to pick up victories. They only have one loss all season long. Baseball Head Coach Bruce Brobst said the boys have yet to play their best baseball, although they are sitting at 10-3 with a five-game win streak.
Here's a look at the top five matchups this week in Rams sports:

1. Boys Lacrosse vs. Great Valley (Monday, 7 p.m.) - The boys have certainly had a tough non-league schedule this year. With ups and downs in the non-league action, this Great Valley game is of the utmost importance. At 12-3, two of the three losses came to opponents outside of the PAC-10. The boys will look to prove their strength of schedule and dominance with a win here.
2. Boys Tennis in PAC-10 Doubles Tournament (Thursday - Saturday, 9 a.m. @ Perkiomen Valley H.S.) - was the runner-up in this year's PAC-10 Singles Tournament two weeks ago. Now, this week he'll try to win the doubles tourney for the second year in a row, this time with as his partner.

3. Boys Lacrosse vs. Boyertown (Thursday, 7 p.m.) - The boys slightly edged the Bears in their last matchup, 11-10, so you can't really expect Boyertown (9-5) to lay down for this one. This game is equally important for Spring-Ford which recently dropped its first PAC-10 loss to Owen J. Roberts. They'll need to keep winning league games if they want to head into the postseason with momentum.
4. Track & Field in Henderson Invitational (Friday, 2:30 p.m.) - The Track & Field teams are performing well through April, with senior Nikki Lynch breaking a school record in the girls javelin recently, and Andrew Scanlan making it to the Penn Relays for his third time (javelin). Oh wait, did I forget the recent relay performances at Penn Relays? This team is killing it. The boys squad is 8-0 in regular season play, and the girls are 7-1, with their only loss coming to the returning champ Methacton Warriors. Look for some good time increases in this invitational as the team gets ready for PAC-10 tournament competition and beyond.
5. Girls Lacrosse vs. Perkiomen Valley (Friday, 7:30 p.m.) - This is a special night for the 10-4 girls, as the home game will be their senior night. The girls will honor six varsity players, including senior leader , goalie Cassidy Novotny, Meghan Ellerbusch (defense), Tracy Sloan (attack), Shannon Stenson (attack) and Lex Versak (attack). The Vikings are 9-5, so the girls will have to play hard in this one.
