This Week in Rams Sports

A look at the top five matchups in Spring-Ford High School varsity sports

The winter seasons are winding down in PAC-10 sports and has a lot to be proud about. The basketball teams have both clinched Final Four spots to compete for the PAC-10 Championship. Both teams made it and lost last year, so it should be an exciting post season for the Rams!

Wrestling is certainly doing well. They placed third in District Duals over the weekend at Upper Dublin High School. They'll now head on to PIAA States. But, in the meantime, they have a PAC-10 matchup and an invitational this week. Swimming and track are continuing to chug along as the season progresses.

1. Swimming @ Methacton H.S. (Tuesday, 3:45 p.m.) - After a slow start to the season, both the boys and girls swimming teams are now 4-2 in meets. They'll have an opportunity on Tuesday to pick up another league victory, as well as increase their winning records against a Methacton team that has 3-5 records in both boys and girls.

2. Wrestling vs. Boyertown H.S. (Wednesday, 6:30 p.m.) - The boys have only one PAC-10 loss all season, and that came to Owen J. Roberts, who most recently won the District Duals tournament. Boyertown should be a tough team to handle and will provide the proper experience necessary for the Rams to prepare for states.

3. Swimming @ Pennsbury East (Thursday, 3:30 p.m.) - Pennsbury has a very serious swimming program, which is available to kids at a very young age. Therefore, the Rams shouldn't take this one lightly. And, with two meets this week, they could see themselves at .500 with two losses, or see themselves at 6-2 with two wins. These are crucial meets for the Rams.

4. Boys Basketball in Final Four (Friday, TBA) - Spring-Ford got in after an up-and-down season with a lot of tough non-league games. Now the Rams will seek retribution for last year's loss to Pope John Paul II in the championship.

5. Girls Basketball in Final Four (Saturday, TBA) - The girls have been on a tear all season long. They still have only two losses to show on their schedule. Now, we'll see what they've really got in the Final Four tourney.
