Train Hits Vehicle In Royersford

ROYERSFORD, PA — A Norfolk Southern train rammed into an unoccupied vehicle Monday night in Royersford, grinding the engine to a halt and leading to road closures in the area.

The incident occurred at around 8 p.m. near Arch Street and 2nd Avenue.

The vehicle became stuck on the tracks, but the occupants were able to escape before the train arrived.

The halted train blocked both Arch Street and Main Street to traffic, and emergency crews cordoned off the area for hours as they responded to the scene.

All roads were reopened shortly after midnight.
