Upper Providence Maid Stole $2,400 From Local Resident: Cops

A woman hired to clean a local resident's house made thousands of dollars of fraudulent purchases using her bank information, police said.

UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA — A woman hired to clean a local resident's house made thousands of dollars of fraudulent purchases using her bank information, police said. She has not yet been arrested and is wanted by authorities.

Upper Providence Township police first became aware of the thefts on May 13, when a local woman contacted them about $2,400 in fraudulent purchases she'd noticed on her account.

An investigation revealed that Daphne Lynn Erb, 50, who had been hired by the woman as a maid, was behind the transactions.

Erb has been charged with access device fraud, identity theft, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property.
