Upper Providence Man, Found Of Kimberton Youth Athletic League, Passes Away

UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA — Lewis R. Rhoades, Jr., 91, husband of Jean (Cage) Rhoades, of Upper Providence, PA, died on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in Brandywine Senior Living, Upper Providence, PA.
Born on March 9, 1926 in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son of the late Lewis, Sr., and Effie (Mooney) Rhoades.

Lewis was a graduate of Phoenixville High School, and a graduate of Ursinus College.
He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.
Lewis had a 40 plus year career in sales and marketing management, with his last position as Regional Sales Manager for Ethan Allen Furniture.
He was a founding member of the Kimberton Youth Athletic League (KYAL) in the 1950's, and served on the Phoenixville Area School Board for 12 years.
He was an avid golfer and a devoted Yankees fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife are son, Lewis (Randy) Rhoades, III of Jacksonville, FL, son, Scott husband of Debbie Ciacci Rhoades of Berwyn, PA, grandson, Lewis R. Rhoades, IV of Gilbertsville, PA, granddaughter, Michelle Rhoades-Jones of Jacksonville, FL.
He was preceded in death by brother, Richard Rhoades.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Graveside Service at Morris Cemetery, 428 Nutt Road, Phoenixville, PA, on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
