Woman Parked Car On Route 422 And Fell Asleep, Police Say

A woman driving on Route 422 on Monday parked on the road and fell asleep in the driver's seat, authorities said.

NORTH COVENTRY, PA — Police said that they arrested a woman on Monday after she parked her car on Route 422 and fell asleep.

The incident occurred in the westbound lanes on the bridge over the Schuylkill River near the township border between North Coventry and Lower Pottsgrove.

A passerby made the report to police that the woman was asleep in the driver's seat of her Ford Focus.

The 21-year-old resident of Oaks was drunk when police arrived, and was taken into custody without incident.

She was not charged with DUI, only public drunkenness, and she was held at the Pottstown Police Department until she was sober.
