Allentown's 2013 Annual Lights in the Parkway

It has become a long time tradition of residents in the Lehigh Valley to celebrate the Christmas season with an amazing display of lights! This year marks the 18th annual Lights in the Parkway, a beautiful collection of lights and animated displays winding through one of Allentown's most beautiful parks. This drive-thru light display covers more than a mile of the Lehigh Parkway and promises to shine brighter than ever before!

This widely anticipated Christmas event has a history dating back to 1996.

"It began as a flicker and is now a full-blown dream come true.  It has become a symbol of community spirit that burns brightly as it draws hundreds of local volunteers and hundreds of thousands of visitors.  From the very beginning, Lights In The Parkway has been symbolic of the holiday season because of its collaborative nature.  Hundreds of people work together to make this special event possible including volunteer organizations, City of Allentown employees, bus tour and hotel operators, and the many local business owners who give generously to help sponsor the display."

Lights in the Parkway lasts from December 6 through December 31, 2103, however it is closed on Christmas Day. Enjoy the spectacular display of lights from 5:30 pm - 10:30 pm everyday of the week and tickets can be purchased at the gate for $10.00 per car. Part of the proceeds benefit local community groups whose members volunteer to staff the display.

Driving is not the only way to enjoy the Lights in the Parkway. You could ride your bike through the park or take a Horse Drawn Carriage Ride!
