Mackenzie to Co-Host Shredder Event That Will Help Residents Avoid Identity Theft

Mackenzie is co-hosting a shredder event with Adams Outdoor Advertising in September.

Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Berks/Lehigh) is partnering with Adams Outdoor Advertising to co-host a shredder event on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to noon.

“Identity theft is the fastest growing crime in America, and perpetrators often get the information they need right from their victim’s trash,” said Mackenzie.  “Many cases of identity theft can be avoided by properly disposing of old documents that contain personal information.  This could include old bank statements, credit card bills, and any papers that contain account numbers, Social Security numbers, and other sensitive data.”

The event will take place in the parking lot of the Lower Macungie Township administration building, located at 3400 Brookside Road.
