This Week at the Library
This week at the library... end-of-the-year lighter week and another OverDrive/e-book teaser!

Hopefully everyone had a great long holiday weekend, whether your gathering was big or small, you shopped at midnight (or 9:00 Thanksgiving night) or stayed away from stores, already put up the Christmas tree or are out hunting! There was no shortage of things to do, and we hope you even got some time in to read! I had a jam-packed weekend, which included my family’s Something-teenth Annual Sweet Potato War (to eat or not to eat, that is the question!), but ready to get back into the swing of things here at the library! Check out what’s going on this week at the library… and be sure to read all the way through for a special teaser at the end!
This week at the library:
Monday: PA German classes at The Hills at Lockridge Rec Center, 7-9pm. This program is FULL, so this is a reminder for those of you who’ve already registered. After tonight, there’s only 3 more classes, so you’re in the home stretch!

Tuesday: Genealogy Basics Computer Class, 11am-1pm. This adult computer class requires advanced registration and a $5 fee at time of registration.
Wednesday: Winter Break drop-by storytimes, 10:30am and 12:30pm. Every Wednesday through December 28th, we’ll be switching from our normal “cycle” schedule to drop-bys. We know the holidays are busy, but we still wanted to give those of you who could make it an opportunity to hear stories! It’s great, if you can make it, so that we can keep kids in the routine! No signup required.

Thursday: Library Board meeting; 5pm in the ballroom of the Township Building. Open to the public.
Friday: Baby Lapsit, 9:30am, a “beginner storytime”/introduction to the library for children who were 11 months old or younger as of 9/12/11; advanced registration
required.
Ones Storytime, 10:30am; a “beginner storytime”/introduction to the library for children who were between 12-23 months as of 9/12/11; advanced registration required.
A lighter week than usual, which will be the norm with the breaks from regular storytimes, but still plenty of reasons to come in! As far as the regular cycles go, all signup folders are out in the children’s area, so you can sign up now for the January cycle. Spots are limited in the morning groups for 2s (Thursdays) and 3s (Wednesdays), so you’ll want to contact us right away if you’re interested.
One little teaser for something that’s soon-to-be arriving… OVERDRIVE! If you own an e-reader or plan to purchase one for the holidays, OverDrive, an e-book lending service through your library, is targeted to go live by the end of December!! We’ve been talking about it for the past few months, but it’s almost here!! We are so close! Lots of little meetings going on between the district libraries to get this up and going. Stay tuned for details!
Please contact us if you have any questions or would like more information on anything, and as always, we hope to see you stop in for a program OR to browse the collection! Have a great week!
