This Week at the Library: Community Day and More!

This week at the library: Community Day on Tuesday and Book Sale wrap up!

The big news this week is tomorrow, Tuesday, May 7th,  there will be Lower Macungie Township’s annual Community Day event! There will be activities for all ages and organizations set up throughout the community center—the gym, rooms and library, as well as outside, weather permitting (although if you came out in last year’s rain, you know it’s a good time regardless of the weather!) We’ll be hosting two things in the library coordinating with the event: there will be a $5 bag sale from 2-7:30pm to wrap up the latest book sale and we’ll also have a coloring contest for kids in the children’s area. All children who color get a giveaway for participating, but there will be special prizes for winners.

Speaking of the Book Sale, thank you to all who have come out, and also to our amazing Friends group who’s been running the whole show! So far, with the bag sale to go, we’ve raised over $3000! Last week, we also pulled the winners from our April Raffle, which raised $1576 to support the library! Congratulations to our winners, and a thank you to QNB, Lafayette Ambassador Bank, Wegman’s, Walmart and Texas Roadhouse for providing the prizes!

A few other things going on in the library: Parents and friends of Alburtis Elementary School 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders—come check out the display of “Happy 100th Birthday, Alburtis” cards we have over the children’s VHS made by the students in preparation for Alburtis’ Centennial celebration.
