This Week at the Library: Drop-By Storytimes Begin
May sees a shift in activity level, but there's still plenty to do at the library!

Goodbye April, hello May! Wow, is it really already May? For some, schedules get crazier with spring sports and warmer weather activities (70s and even 80s later this week!!) this time of year.
For the library, we downgrade from a busy March/April period into a reasonably busy May… before kicking it into overdrive with summer reading activities for both youth and adults. That, by no means, means there’s nothing to do here, though!
We’ve got the start of the May Drop-by Storytimes, Adult book club and baby programs. And the news we teased last week about a new service will definitely be announced tomorrow! I already have the information written, but we wanted to give it its own announcement. If you receive email notices from us, you may already know and we’ll also announce it on our Facebook page later today, but check back here tomorrow morning for some details!

A big thank you again to our awesome volunteers who were celebrated this past weekend for all their hard work! Library volunteers, coordinators, Friends members and board members took part in a volunteer recognition program on Saturday morning in the library. The event, which included breakfast and brief remarks from Library Board President Jennifer Tyma and Volunteer Coordinator Sarah Meitzler, recognized volunteers for putting in over 2,200 volunteer hours in 2011! Be sure to thank a volunteer next time you see one out in the stacks!
One final reminder before signing off for this post... be sure to mark down the 2nd Annual Community Day on your calendar for next Tuesday, May 8! The entire Community Center will be operating an "Open House" with the township and local businesses represented, tours of the community center and library, as well as tons of activities! There's a coloring contest in the library, and new this year is a petting zoo and face painting, along with the chance to meet Clifford the Big Red Dog, Sponge Bob, Smokey the Bear, and a special appearance by Ferrous! You definitely don't want to miss an opportunity to join your neighbors!
