This Week at the Library
This week at the library, we have storytimes, book club and computer classes. And if anyone's still without power or internet following the storm, come use ours!

I have a feeling it’s going to be hard to approach Halloween again without a little fear of what weather craziness will be coming. I hope everyone’s power is back up and things are returning to “normal." We were closed two days last week, but once we re-opened, we saw many of you coming in. On Wednesday, there wasn’t a seat open in the place! Strangers were sharing tables, outlets, and talking to one another. We pulled out extension cords, had information on other locations offering services to those without power and did anything else we could think of to pitch in. The circumstances were horrible, but it was amazing to see everyone reaching out to one another! We were thankful we could serve the community in a non-library-typical kind of way, like we did last year with Hurricane Irene and the Halloween snowstorm.
From talking to a lot of friends and families in here, I know that a lot of you were following us and other pertinent organizations on Facebook before, during and after the storm. You may not have had power, but by conserving your smartphone batteries and checking in on Facebook periodically, people were getting a lot of valuable information. We posted quite frequently during the storm. So if you’re not following us there, it’s a great tool for connecting to us, in addition to normal library information.
So what do we have going on this week?

Bedtime Booktime; 7:30pm, ages 2-7 years. Our monthly bedtime storytime. Kids can come out and hear a few bedtime stories. Come dressed in your PJs… Miss Erin will be! No signup required.
Tuesday: 4 year old storytimes, 10:30am and 12:30pm. Advanced registration is required for storytimes, as there’s a limit to how many kids I can fit into the program room, plus advanced registration helps me prepare for the right number of kids… not ending up “short” or wasting craft supplies when people don’t show, and there’s an age cutoff date of 9/12 based on the East Penn School District. Contact us if you’re interested. This week, kids can come dressed in their Halloween costumes!
Wednesday: 3 year old storytimes, 10:30am and 12:30pm. Again, advanced registration is required for storytimes, for the same reasons as above. This week, kids can come dressed in their Halloween costumes!
Adult Book Club: 10:30am in the Township “ballroom”. This month’s book is Paris Wife by Paula McLain. Contact the library for details if you’re interested.
Thursday: 2 year old storytimes, 10:30am and 12:30pm. Again, advanced registration is required for storytimes. This week, kids can come dressed in their Halloween costumes!
Intro to Computer Basics, Level 1, 11am-1pm. Learn the basics of using a computer, both its external and internal parts, using a mouse, and basic windows operation. Advanced registration and a $5 fee required.
As always, please contact the library for details on any programs. And don’t forget to mark your calendars for next weekend… Friday and Saturday we’ll have our annual Fall Book Sale (although there’s more than just books available); Preview night for Friends members is Thursday night. Stay tuned for details about that next week!
