This Week at the Library: Pool Party Finale!!
The library's only program this week is the youth summer reading Pool Party Finale! Come join us! And finale week to count books!

There is one program and one program only this week at the library: SUMMER READING POOL PARTY FINALE!!
So I can’t take too long, because as soon as I finish, I’m going to load up the giveaways and head down to the pool, but here we go! Sunny (sometimes cloudy, but definitely not rainy!) skies for the finale! Here’s the details.
DJ Jimbo will be there by 3:00 playing music (although he’s as excited as we are, so maybe a little earlier!) and he’ll be playing until a little after 6:00. The pool closes at 7:00. Rita’s will arrive sometime around 4:00. A big thank you to Haffner & Associates, CPAs in Macungie who generously provided the funds for Rita’s! In between, come sign in that you’re there, get some freebies, but just have fun with your “neighbors” and enjoy the pool! Request some music, we’ll probably be doing the chicken dance and limbo at some point, but it’s really just to celebrate at the pool.

And then have until the end of the week to finish the reading incentive program. You can return logs or track online until 5:00 Saturday, and I’m happy to report that as of checking at noon, we’ve already passed last summer’s total books read! I haven’t even added the teen, adult and some of the in-library print logs in the past couple of days, so I’m sure we’re well over! Keep going till Saturday! And don’t forget to stop in to fill out a final red marker in the children’s area with the total number of books read. Top readers in each age can choose from an extra prize, like a free kids meal, Crayola sets or a book!
In a few non-program announcements, if you haven’t yet, please take a chance to fill out the 2012 Customer Satisfaction Survey. Everyone who takes the couple of minutes to fill it out can be entered into a raffle for a prize. Also, please take 30 seconds to nominate us for the LEGO DUPLO Read! Build! Play! Project (State: PA, City: Macungie, Branch: Lower Macungie Library)… and we could win an early literacy kit from LEGO! One of our patrons was so awesome to initially nominate us, and we’ve moved up to about 107 the last time I checked. The top 200 libraries get kids and the top library wins $5000! Links are available on our Facebook page, where it would be awesome if you shared the link to vote!
