What do you Think of the Township's Digital Sign Trend?
Recently two "digital" signs have sprung up in the township. One on Brookside Rd. and one on Willow Lane near Rt. 100.
Recently two digital signs have been approved in Lower Macungie Township: one at a Brookside Road dental office, and one on Willow Lane near Rt. 100.
What do you think of these signs? Do these fit in with the character of the township?
The question I always ask. Are we trying to emulate "Main St." in our Villages and walkable commercial corridors or are we slowly building "Macarther Rd?"

Here are some comments we recieved on our facebook page when we asked the same question:
"Driving Distraction at night"

" I own a consignment shop on Main St. in Northampton. I live up here her now but grew up in the township. For folks like me who want that kind of (Main Street) atmosphere there really aren't options in the township. I would love to open another store maybe. Someday hopefully East Texas or Wescosville can develop into a place with character where small business owners like myself could thrive."
"U G L Y"
"Horrible & trashy"
"It's obnoxiously bright....doesn't fit in"
" I"m sure nobody gave thought to how it could impact the neighbors...."
"It's absolutely a distraction. Hard to look away, hypnotic almost."
So what do you think? Does the township need to better regulate nuisance signage? Is it a safety issue, a quality of life issue, an aesthetic issue or a combination of all of the above? Or do you like the sign?
