Wildlands Conservancy’s PreK Pathfinders program
is part of a monthly series designed for children ages 3-5 and their grown-ups. 
This month: Stretch, flex and take a breath! It’s time for animal inspired yoga, with some of our education animal ambassadors and outdoor play. Each participant encouraged to bring a yoga mat or blanket. 
Programs are free thanks to funding from Lehigh County. 


Space is limited, and registration is required. Please register all children and adults who plan to attend.

Wildlands Conservancy’s PreK Pathfinders is part of a monthly series designed for children aged 3-5 and their grown-ups. This interactive program encourages exploration, learning, and discovery through hands-on activities, stories, and outdoor adventures, tailored to spark curiosity and connect young children with the natural world. Each child-adult team will embark on a shared experience designed to nurture early learning skills and foster a love for nature. Please note that registration is required only for the participating children, however each child must be accompanied by an adult.

This month: Dig into a big adventure with Little Excavators! 
Join Munch the Turtle on an exciting archaeological dig where kids and their caregivers become detectives of the past. Unearth hidden treasures, solve mysteries, and enjoy captivating stories that bring history to life. This hands-on, outdoor adventure promises plenty of dirt-digging, storytelling, and laughter-filled fun! Little Excavators is the perfect way to spark your child’s curiosity, imagination, and love for the outdoors.

Join Wildlands Conservancy for a special morning at our Thomas Darling Preserve, a critical habitat for a rich variety of breeding birds. Led in partnership with Brandon Swayser from the Da Vinci Science Center, this immersive program offers a rare opportunity to observe how researchers study and care for wild birds, providing insights into monitoring bird populations, tracking migration, and supporting conservation efforts.What to Expect: 


Guided Birding Hike 
Enjoy a relaxed hike through this ecologically rich preserve, with binoculars provided if you don’t have your own. Discover how Wildlands’ habitat restoration efforts—like forest thinning and native plant regeneration—are helping to create ideal nesting conditions for golden-winged warblers and other species in decline. 
 
Possible Up-Close Encounter with Wild Birds 
This unique experience offers an intimate glimpse into the science behind bird conservation and can help deepen your connection to these incredible creatures. 

Please Note:
·There are no restrooms on site at Thomas Darling Preserve. The closest accessible restroom is at the Wawa, located about one mile away on Route 115.
·This program is best suited for ages 10 and up
·Trail conditions: Trails may be rocky, wet, muddy, and buggy, so please come prepared with appropriate footwear, bug spray, and anything else you might need to stay comfortable.
·Parking: Park in the lot across from 606 PA-940 Pocono Lake, Pa 18347.

Join Wildlands Conservancy for a hands-on Monarch Tagging &amp; Meadow Exploration. This immersive outdoor experience invites participants to explore vibrant meadow habitats while directly supporting monarch butterfly populations in the Lehigh Valley. Led by our Senior Restoration Ecologist and a Wildlands Environmental Educator, this program connects participants to Wildlands’ mission to protect natural landscapes while fostering environmental stewardship through science, discovery, and exploration.
Program Highlights:
Monarch Tagging as Citizen Science
Under the expert guidance of our Environmental Educator, participants will learn how to carefully capture and tag monarch butterflies as they prepare for their migration to Mexico. By contributing to this important citizen science project, you’ll help track monarch populations and support international efforts to monitor their migration and survival.
Guided Meadow Exploration
Participants will explore a native meadow habitat and learn about the plants, pollinators, and ecological relationships that support monarchs and other wildlife. Discover how these rich ecosystems function, identify native species, and gain a deeper understanding of the critical role meadows play in sustaining biodiversity. Nets will be provided.
Perfect for:
Nature enthusiasts, families, educators, and anyone interested in butterflies, pollinators, and the beauty of meadow ecosystems. Best for adults and children 10 and up.
