Chick-fil-A in Trexlertown Mobbed with Supporters

The restaurant Chick-fil-A in Trexlertown attracts a big crowd who lined up to show support for the company president Dan Cathy for his remarks promoting traditional marriage.

A line of people and cars waiting to order at the Chick-fil-A in Trexlertown wrapped around the restaurant today as customers turned out to show their support for the company president's comments about traditional marriage, according to a Morning Call report

A few weeks ago, Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy had said during a radio show that "we're inviting God's judgement on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage. And I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude that thinks we have the audacity to redefine what marriage is all about."

Those remarks and others Cathy made subsequently drew condemnation from gay rights groups, politicians and celebrities and calls for a boycott of the chicken sandwich chain.  Those calls drew a strong reaction from former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and other conservatives who asked the public to show support for Cathy and his stand by eating at Chick-fil-A restaurants across the country today.

The Morning Call reported supporters made up long lines today around the Trexlertown restaurant and drive-thru. The report quoted Adrian Shanker, president of Equality Pennslyvania saying that the Chick-fil-A corporation has donated millions of dollars to organizations that oppose gay marriage and promote the idea that gays can be cured.
