Lower Macungie Library is pleased to announce, in partnership with Allentown District Libraries, that we now offer our patrons Zinio for Libraries! Zinio was awarded Best New Database of 2012 by Library Journal, and is the world’s largest newsstand. Popular magazines such as Good Housekeeping, National Geographic, Newsweek, Esquire and Readers Digest are just a few of the popular titles available.
With Zinio, you get unlimited simultaneous access to complete digital magazines, which can be easily viewed on most Internet-enabled devices inside or outside the library. What does that mean? It means that through the use of your tablet, smart phone or iPod, you can access any of the titles we offer on the go right away. No waiting because someone else has it checked out already. No having to place requests. No having to return it after 3 weeks… you download it right away and it stays in your collection until you choose to delete it!
Zinio’s unique technology digitally recreates a magazine page for page, including full color pictures, intuitive navigation and key word article search. Plus, you get tons of great "extras" and features-- interactive elements such as audio and video. Just one example we found is that in special photos found in National Geographic Traveler, as you turn in a circle with your device, the panoramic pans with you!
