Historian Frank Whelan will talk about Lehigh County, A Bicentennial Look Back at an American Community. Frank is well known for his popular columns and features about local history in the local media. He is the author of a new book published by Lehigh County to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the founding of the county. The wonderfully interesting, heavily illustrated book is written in a very entertaining, easy-to-read style.
If you know Macungie well, you'll recognize Main Street on the cover. Photos of Macungie, Emmaus, and Lower Macungie are among the many used in the book.
For those who want a copy of the book, they will be available for sale at the event, and Frank will sign them. If you already have an unsigned copy, bring it with you to have it signed. Cost of the book is $26.50.
