When: Sunday, Sept. 30, from 1 PM to 4 PM, rain or shine
What is it : This event is an opportunity for the public to take an Outdoor Tour of the Township-owned Kratzer Farm, an 86-acre, historic farm located in the center of Lower Macungie Township. There will be two guided tour sessions to showcase the natural features of the property:
the first tour will begin at 1:15 and the second at 2:45.

Participants will be lead by experts who will point out and explain about various natural features of this
property.
Guides: Christopher Sacchi, PhD, a Kutztown University biology professor, will discuss native and invasive plants at the property.
Jon Levin, of the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society, will discuss birds and bird habitat at the property.
Scott Alderfer, of the Little Lehigh Chapter of Trout Unlimited, will discuss aquatic life in the stream that flows through the property.
Time: Meet at the barn between 1:00 and 1:15 for the first tour session.
Meet at the barn between 2:30 and 2:45 for the second tour session.
CAUTION: There are no established walking trails at the farm. The ground is uneven and can be slightly hilly. Participants are urged to wear appropriate footwear; hiking boots are strongly recommended.
Although the hike will feature many stops throughout the tour, the unevenness of the terrain may prove too strenuous for some people with existing physical limitations.
