The seventh grade classes of the East Penn School District participated in the contest, which is held in celebration of Women’s History Month, celebrated in March. The contest aims to increase students’ awareness of contributions made by women throughout history, as well as in society today. Students are asked to select a woman or an event in women’s history and write an essay and create a drawing depicting the woman or event. Entries are judged on historical or contemporary significance, originality, and clarity of content, design and layout.
