Gas prices in Pennsylvania have nudged a tiny bit higher this week, which may not be a good sign with the fourth of July coming next week, according to AAA’s fuel report. July is traditionally when gas prices make their summer-time jump, the report says.

In Pennsylvania, the average price of self-serve gasoline is $3.505 per gallon, up one-tenth of a cent from a week ago, down 1 cent from a month ago and 13.1 cents higher than a year ago

In the Lehigh Valley, the average price of self-serve gasoline is $3.461 per gallon, two-tenths of a cent lower than a week ago, 3.5 cents lower than a month ago and 16.3 cents higher than a year ago.

Locally, according to gasbuddy.com, you can still beat the Lehigh Valley average, with a three-way tie for the best price -- $3.43 per gallon -- being reported on Wednesday afternoon at the following Macungie filling stations:

  • Wawa, 3321 Willow Lane and Main Street
  • Turkey Hill, 141 W. Main St. and West End Trail
  • Shell, 1915 Brookside Road and Lower Macungie Road
