Gun-Waving Man Says 'I'm Going to Plow All Three of You,' According to Police

Driveway sealing made a Lower Macungie man so upset that he got a gun and threatened three people, court papers say.

A driveway sealing job on Monday led to a Lower Macungie Township man landing in jail soon after on charges including making terroristic threats for waving a gun and yelling that he would shoot people, according to court papers.

Robert Haberstumpf, 50, of 1967 Aster Road became upset because a neighbor was having their shared driveway sealed. Haberstumpf was waving a silver-barrel handgun at the neighbor and two workers from a second-floor window of his home, according to an Affidavit of Probable Cause. Haberstumpf next threatened to get his AK-47 in addition.

The following is the account of Trooper William Rowan from the affidavit filed through the office of Magisterial District Judge Michael Faulkner of Upper Macungie Township:

At 12:02 p.m., state police at Fogelsville were called to a disturbance at 1963 Aster Road. Homeowner Kathleen Moore told police that neighbor Robert Haberstumpf had been waving a handgun and yelling threats from his second-floor window.

Events began when Moore knocked at Haberstumpf's door and asked if he wanted to move his car because she was having their shared driveway sealed. Haberstumpf yelled from a window above to leave him alone.

Then Haberstumpf returned to the window a second time and—waving a handgun—yelled, "I am going to plow all three of you. I am going to get my AK next."

The sealing company workers, Joshua Travers and Richard Stanky, later confirmed Moore's account.

Moore called police, but Haberstumpf was gone when the first car arrived. His car was spotted at 12:16 p.m. at . Haberstumpf was seen returning to the vehicle and was arrested.

Haberstumpf admitted to police that he argued with Moore because she was having the driveway sealed and he had just gotten a new car. He got a handgun and yelled at her from a window. He said he knew what he did was wrong.

He consented to a search of his car and residence. Police found four guns inside his home, including a silver-barrel handgun and an AK-47 rifle.

Haberstumpf was charged Monday with three counts each of making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, simple assault and harassment, according to online court records. He was released Tuesday on $20,000 bond.
