Hornets Cruise to Victory Over Boyertown

The Hornets pulled away late once again to get to a season best eight games over .500.

After qualifying for Districts in their previous game against Bethlehem Catholic, the Emmaus boys’ basketball team was looking to avoid a letdown again the Boyertown Bears. The Hornets didn’t disappoint.

Similar to last night’s victory over the Golden Hawks, Emmaus had only a slim two-point lead after the first quarter, according to lehighvalleylive.com.

But in the second quarter, behind junior guard Steve Gigler’s 18-point effort, the Hornets pulled away to a 9-point halftime lead.

The contest was much the same in the third and fourth quarters as Emmaus controlled the momentum until the final buzzer, when they won 68-45.

The Hornets are now 12-4 overall and 5-4 in the Lehigh Valley Conference. They will continue play Monday at Easton and Tuesday when they host Freedom.
